Cuba Gooding Jr.'s Brother

Did anyone just hear Tony Kornheiser on ESPN radio talking about today's premiere of ESPN's Playmakers, their first dive into what seems like a primetime TV show? He commented that the acting seemed pretty good from what he'd seen so far and that he believed that one of the leads was Cuba Gooding Jr.'s brother, so there was some talent on this show.

Wait a minute. Is he saying that someone related to Cuba Gooding Jr has potential to be a good actor? Based on what? Did you see him in Snow Dogs? What about Pearl Harbor? Rat Race?

It's amazing that this man has lived off Boyz N The Hood for this long. Cuba actually took part in one of the worst movies I've ever seen, Men of Honor, and Kornheiser has the nerve to say that the brother of this overrated actor has acting ability based on his family roots? Stick to sports Kornheiser, 'cause calling Cuba Gooding Jr. a good actor makes my junk hurt.

Anyway, check out the website for Playmakers. A dramatic sports series airing primetime on ESPN - sounds nice.

You'll Be Happy To Know

Caple finally made it to Wrigley over on ESPN's Page 2. Hit it. He's funny. Not Bill Simmons funny. But comical none the less.

Cover Curse

You may be wondering why I posted a SI cover featuring none other than Michigan's bitter rival, tOSU. You see, SI picked Ohio State as their pre-season National Champs. And they released their top 25 and wrongly put Michigan at #13.

Why am I so happy about this. Because, as you may or may not know, there's a little thing called the SI Cover Curse. It's like the plague. Coupled with the debacle that is Maurice Clarett, this just about spells the end for our neighbors to the south (or to the east if you live where I live).

Now if we can just get Beano Cook to stop calling Michigan his pick for National Champions, we should be all set. This is a similar curse, only no one listens to Beano Cook when he talks.

Go Blue.
